| 1. What level of independence is necessary for someone
to live in assisted living?
Bentley residents should be able to self-transfer from bed to
wheelchair to toilet, etc. They must be able to follow a simple
daily routine and self-manage any urinary incontinence.
2. What are your apartment sizes?
We have large and small efficiencies with and without kitchens,
as well as one bedrooms. The approximate sizes range from 305 to
543 sq. ft.
3. Do you offer beauty & barber salon services and transportation?
Yes, we are able to offer both of these. The beauty and barber
salon is open 5 days per week and is available to assisted living
residents on any weekday afternoon. Transportation to medical and
dental appointments is offered on Monday-Friday at a cost of $5-$20,
depending on the number of miles in a round trip.
4. Where do the Assisted Living residents eat?
Bentley has a lovely private dining room which is located in the
center of the second floor, overlooking our landscaped courtyard.
5. What kinds of activities are offered?
We provide an extensive activity calendar which lists routine
programs such as exercises, devotionals, monthly birthday parties,
Bingo, trips to Wal Mart and our “never-to-be-missed”
activity buck auction. We also plan special events such as trips
to the Mesquite Rodeo, the Texas State Fair, “Dallas Blooms”
at the arboretum, as well as parties for every occasion.
We even have volunteers who provide free manicures every other
week!
6. Do you accept residents who are diabetic?
Yes, as long as they are able to self-manage their own blood sugar
testing and insulin njections. Medication Aides are disallowed by
law to give injectable medications in an Assisted Living setting.
7. What costs are involved in Assisted Living?
There are five different floorplans offered at Bentley Assisted
Living. The monthly rent will vary according to which floorplan
is selected and if there is a second occupant. Some other additional
cost would occur if a resident requires assistance with showers
or medications.
8. Do you have a nurse on duty?
Yes, we have an R.N. here available 24 hours per week to 32 hours
per week.
9. Do you allow motorized scooters in your building?
Yes, as long as the resident demonstrates proficiency and signs
a scooter/electric wheel-chair agreement.
10. Do you accept Medicaid or the CBA Program?
Bentley Assisted Living apartments are all private pay.
