Nearly 60 years ago, a group of visionary Christians
gathered to form what has become the largest ministry to senior
adults in North Texas. The purpose then was to provide a loving,
secure and peaceful home, and to care for seniors who had limited
financial resources to care for themselves. Those men and women
who began the ministry on the abandoned campus of the Gunter Bible
College in 1947 couldn’t know how their
early vision would grow into the 21st century.
Today, Christian Care Centers encompasses three campuses in North
Texas serving over 1,200 senior adults but the purpose remains the
same: to give of our time and resources to care for those seniors
who can’t support themselves. While our early Christian pioneers
established the groundwork and paved the way for so many of us who
feel the responsibility to contribute to this ministry, there has
never been a time when the need has been greater or more urgent.
Let your light shine before men, that they may see
your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven.
- Matthew 5:16
