Rehabilitation Services at Christian Care Center, Mesquite

Rehabilitation services at Christian Care Center are provided by licensed therapists who are our own employees. Frequently, rehabilitation services are provided by contract therapy companies in the skilled nursing facility. By employing our own Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists, we believe the continuity and quality of therapy is improved, which results in improved outcomes for the patients we serve.

We are proud to announce the availability of Outpatient Therapy Services on the Mesquite Campus. All therapy services require a physician’s order and are billable to Medicare and many supplemental insurance companies.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy improves strength, flexibility, balance, gait, and mobility. Physical Therapy is also very effective in reducing pain, and helping to restore function through exercise, modalities, and education. Many people think of physical therapy for walking and doing activities, such as moving in and out of bed, from chair-to-chair, and getting out of the house! When pain limits these functions, Physical Therapy may help.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy can improve fine motor skills and performance of activities of daily living (ADLs). Occupational therapists teach energy conservation and provide training in dressing, bathing, and self-care. Many people think of Occupational Therapy for using their hands and doing things for themselves.

Speech- Language Pathology

Speech Pathology improves speech and language, as well as swallowing and cognition. The Speech Pathologist can set up studies to identify swallowing problems and can both improve swallowing and adapt the diet for safety. Speech Pathologists can also help improve memory and orientation to the environment and help with higher level self-care activities, such as medication management.
